Health

The HSE is no longer fit for purpose. Despite ballooning staff numbers and budget, it cannot seem to solve its issues and deliver adequate healthcare to the people of Ireland. It is a national scandal that our elderly are left sitting on trolleys for hours and when eventually checked in, they are not given adequate time to recover.

The front-line staff are overworked and demoralised.

The doctors and consultants are moving abroad for better pay and working conditions. The system is creaking at the seams and will struggle to cope in the event of a bad flu season.

We need to investigate how the money is being spent at the HSE – why are we not getting value for money? We spend more per capita than almost every other country in Europe yet we are getting very little in return. We will do a full audit and bring in International experts to advise on ways to address the issues.

We also know that the best approach would be to prevent people from having to go to the hospital in the first place by encouraging more healthy diets and lifestyle choices to prevent chronic illnesses. We believe the current nutritional guidelines which promote a low-fat, high-carb diet are a disaster for human health and instead, we should be focused on low-carb, high-fat diets which we thrived on for thousands of years.

Many papers have been promoted that vilify red meat, claiming it is a carcinogen. What they don’t tell you is that these papers are often written by vegans and vegetarians and funded by companies that stand to make huge financial gains by promoting alternative processed junk food instead of meat. The independent science shows that a diet high in fatty red meat and low in carbs and processed foods will lead to positive health outcomes and we believe it will reduce the burden on our healthcare system.
